Woodblock print of the actor Sankura Mare by Toyokuni Utagawa, made from black and colored printing inks on medium weight Japanese paper; vertically oriented, polychrome print; full length portrait with active pose; figure bears two scabbards, with two swords protruding from his obi; figure wears orange cherry blossom [shirt] and blue and black [robe]; gray gradation background; dark brown painted wood frame with gold molded inner rim; inscription on left and upper right.
