Date mid to late 20th century
Description Wood and metal bedsprings, American, mid to late 20th century, possibly made by Paine Furniture Co. Queen size, inner spring bedspring with wood slats, metal springs, and cotton cover; round corners; tan and white striped tickingcover with rope trim; white plastic reinforcers on corners; linen gauze underside; part of set with matching mattress.
Inscription Text On synthetic tag: "No.2PFI / UNDER PENALTY OF LAW / THIS TAG NOT TO BE REMOVED / EXCEPT BY CONSUMER / ALL NEW MATERIAL CONSISTING OF / INNERSPRING UNIT / COVERED WITH / HORSEHAIR [space] 40% / BLENDED COTTON FELT [space] 40% / CHEMICALLY BONDED SISAL PADS [space] 20% / LIC. NO. Mass. 160 Per.NO. Pa. 294"
Underneath two inscriptions running side-by-side, on left: "This article is made in / compliance with an Act / of the Dist. of Columbia / approved July 3, 1926; Kansas approved March / 1923; Min. approved / April 24, 1929; N.J. revised statutes 26; 10-6 to 18. La. Act/ 467-1948.."
On right: "CERTIFICATION IS MADE / BY THE MANUFACTURER / THAT THE MATERIALS IN / THIS ARTICLE ARE DE- / SCRIBED IN ACCORD- / ANCE WITH LAW. / CONTENTS STERILIZED."
