Description Cotton canopy, Mexican, Spanish, [or Portuguese], [18th or late 19th to early 20th century]. Embroidered bed hanging of dark tan cotton foundation with mercerized cotton or silk embroidery in running stitch, back stitch, and satin stitch; central design of standing woman and man on horseback, surrounded by highly stylized floral patterns; yellow fringe edging; colors include gold, dark green, brown, yellow, and blue.
