Half-length portrait of a man identified, by nameplate on frame, as "Mr. Lee High Sheriff of Liverpool"; dressed as a late 18th century gentleman he wears a double breasted blue jacket, tan pants and a high collared white shirt; his right hand rests inside his jacket between two open buttons; he looks to the proper left; sits before an indistinct background.
